Fact #1
Dental insurance is meant to be an aid to restore your mouth to health. Many patients believe that their plan will pay up to 80% or even 100% of their dental expenses. In fact, we have found that many plans only cover about 40% to 50% of an average fee. The amount your plan pays is determined by how much your employer paid for the plan. The less they paid for the insurance, the less you will receive.
Fact #2
Dental insurance in the 1960’s paid out an average of $1000 of dental benefits per year. Today, the average is still $1000! They have not adjusted with the cost of living!
Fact #3
Insurance is submitted after each visit. However, the patient is responsible for the total treatment fee not covered by their insurance.
Fact #4
Each insurance policy is different. Please read your policy so that you are aware of your benefits and limitations.
